Spare tires are over rated. Got rid of mine in the Miata a long time ago. Much rather have the space to carry a floor jack and tools while still being able to fit a full grocery load. I figure 17 year old spare tire is worthless/not reliable and I might as well make use of that AAA I pay for anyways.

Good point. This made me think. My power locks now control my boot as well, but this means that when I park my convertible with the roof open people can open the locked boot by pulling the door button up. How does this work with the MR2?

The release is in the Glove box, which is lockable, as are the bins behind the seats and the engine cover. I just need to get a key cut for it as the only key I have is a Valet one, which won’t operate them. Apparently the code to get the key cut is on the door lock, and I’ve got speakers to replace so can do both at the same time.

Iwas seriously considering a Mister Two Spyder, but would never pass a broomstick test. The silly smallness of storage doesn’t bother me though.
